BCD-IT.Integration Hub
We present to your attention BCD-IT.Integration Hub – a software solution that significantly simplifies patient interaction with various medical centers.
All modern medical facilities offer patients the opportunity to independently make an appointment via the Internet using a PC or mobile device. However, since all medical facilities have different information systems using different interfaces, patients must visit many different websites built on different platforms to make an appointment or use other services.
Patients are forced to deal with a large number of different recording systems, which is inconvenient, time-consuming and causes confusion, irritation and dissatisfaction among users.
We offer a modern solution – a single portal through which patients can make an appointment at any of the medical centers in your region, city or country.
Our offer consists of several components:
The Integration Hub – a software solution for working with any database, special integration modules that ensure interaction of the Hub with specific medical information systems & an external interface (WEB interface of the unified portal).
What do you get?
Ease of use – easy integration with information systems of any type, regardless of their design and architecture.
Universality – the system is WEB-based and does not require specialized equipment, allowing you to access it through any device, including smartphones.
Flexibility – you can use either your own developments with our integration module or use the interface we developed.
Convenience – a single unified interface for making an appointment with a doctor in all medical institutions. The user no longer needs to go to the website of each medical institution to make an appointment or remember which institution he was registered in – a single portal will provide him with the opportunity to register at any medical institution or complete information about all his future visits.
Information security – all personal information of patients is stored exclusively in databases of medical information systems and is transmitted only through secure protocols. No confidential data is stored on external systems outside the control of the customer.
Total control – the system is completely hosted on the customer’s servers, which excludes unauthorized access to internal data of third-party clients, including system developers.
Reliability – all functionality for making an appointment remains with the customer’s medical information systems, while the hub performs exclusively integration functions and does not affect the operation of medical systems.
Savings – to integrate into the general healthcare system, medical centers will not have to change the information systems they are already familiar with. All that is needed is to add a special integration profile to the existing medical information system.
The BCD-IT.Integration Hub system supports two main operating modes:
Available appointment.
In this mode, the patient or an employee of the medical institution, seeing free slots, independently makes an appointment through a single portal connected to BCD-IT.Integration Hub:
Appointment by referral.
In this mode, the authorized employee of the medical center or healtcare insurance fund, in the first step, issues a digital referral to the patient, which determines which service or which specialist the patient will be referred to:
Next the patient, through the interface of a single portal connected to BCD-IT.Integration Hub, using the code from his referral and seeing available slots, chooses convenient date and time and makes an appointment. The system independently recognizes which specialist or medical institution the patient is referred to:
Also the patient using a single portal connected to BCD-IT.Integration Hub, can obtain in one place complete information about all his future visits to various medical centers, and, if necessary, cancel the appointment or clarify some information about the appointment.
To ensure the exchange of information in modern information systems, in addition to standard medical documents, it is also necessary to ensure the ability to transfer and process extended medical records. For these purposes, the HUB provides the exchange of medical documents in specialized formats that comply with international standards (XML HL7 CDA) between different medical institutions, as well as the transfer of vital parameters and other documents of arbitrary formats generated in the medical information systems of participants, connected to a single integration system.
Data exchange options via the HUB:
• Transfer of data from medical devices used by patients at home (devices for measuring blood pressure, pulse, saturation, cholesterol, glucose, etc.)
• Transfer of data on request from one medical institution to another (for example, data from examination or laboratory test results, adding new medical information to a patient’s personal card, etc.)

FAQ:
1. What is BCD-IT HUB?
BCD-IT Hub is a set of software modules that provide solutions to various tasks of integrating MIS among themselves, including ensuring patient appointments at various medical institutions registered and connected to the Hub and interacting with the Hub via a unified protocol using secure Internet channels (HTTPS) for data transmission. The Hub modules are developed to work under the control of a WEB server, and have an application interface based on the SOAP protocol.
2. Is there a need to replace the MIS in a medical organization in the case of using the BCD-IT Hub?
No, there is no need. Additional integration modules are used to connect to the Hub.
3. Who develops integration modules?
The development is carried out by specialists from the MIS side or from the Hub side, if the MIS has interfaces for interaction with external systems.
4. How many medical institutions can be connected to a single BCD-IT Hub?
The number of medical facilities is determined by the technical characteristics of the server. We have a successful experience in operating the BCD-IT Hub with the connection of more than 100 medical institutions to it.
5. How many different types of MIS can be connected to a single BCD-ID Hub?
There are no restrictions. All MIS connected to the Hub are integrated using the unified protocol through integration modules unique for each type of MIS.
6. What determines the maximum number of patients and employees of the Ministry of Defense who can simultaneously work with the HUB?
It depends on the configuration of the Web server, the availability of a load balancer and the general requirements for the speed of processing Hub requests from the Customer. We have a successful operating experience in regions with a population of more than a million people.
7. Can third-party software (after granting them access) connect and use the BCD-IT Hub?
Yes, third-party software can do this using the unified Hub data exchange protocol. This is how integration modules work, if they are created by MIS developers.
8. Do you have a test BCD-IT Hub?
Yes. Access to it is available upon request.
9. Where are the BCD-IT Hub software modules installed?
The Hub is installed on the Customer’s server.
10. Does the BCD-IT Hub interact with any external services?
The Hub interacts ONLY with the integration modules of medical institutions and does not interact with any external services.
11. How does the BCD-IT Hub interact with integration modules?
The interaction is carried out using an API developed by BCD-IT Technologies, based on SOAP requests (HTTPS).
12. What are the server OS requirements for the BCD-IT Hub?
Windows Server 2016 or above with IIS and Miscrosoft SQL Server 2014 or above.
13. What are the technical specifications of the server for the BCD-IT HUB?
Minimum system requirements:
- Processor: Quad-core 2 GHz
- RAM: 16 GB
- Disk space: from 20 GB
14. Is it possible to make changes and additions to the BCD-IT Hub functionality?
Yes. These works are carried out by BCD-IT Technologies under a separate contract.
15. How is the BCD-IT Hub distributed?
The BDC-IT Hub is distributed under a non-exclusive license for the right to use.
